Kristen Jasionowski
Born 1986, Abington, Pennsylvania
Kristen Jasionowski's artistic practice runs parallel with her life as a farming homesteader, influencing her investigation of land & water use, humanity's lost knowledge, and history of place. Her work combines printmaking, sewing, and text with such natural materials as handmade paper and salvaged wood.
Jasionowski's art focuses on ideas of mapping and environment, the history of a location often affecting the work made there. Her study of waterways offers clues to the artist's personal past, as well as their historical relationship with societal settlement, communication, and transport.
